  • The Stirling Latelys

    Fee: Free

With a repertoire that blends Irish and Scottish Celtic songs, contemporary folk, and compelling originals, the Stirling Latelys are a Milwaukee-based group with decades of combined performing experience. Consisting of Alli Johnson (vocals, guitar), Amanda Carlson (ukulele, vocals), and Chad Johnson (guitar, mandolin, vocals), the quartet has a penchant for exquisite vocal harmonies, dynamic, colorful arrangements, vivid storytelling, and shooting large wads of cash into the audience at their shows with a potato gun (source needed). Alli is the lead singer and founding member of festival-favorite The Selkie Girls, having performed in nearly a dozen states with several TV appearances. She also directs the Milwaukee Irish Fest Choir and has taught voice, guitar, piano, and ukulele privately for years. Chad has authored over 95 music instructional books for Hal Leonard Corporation and shared the stage with members of Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Allman Brothers Band, Jamey Johnson, and others. Amanda Carlson received a BA in vocal music from Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD, has performed in various choirs and worship bands since the age of 13, and sang with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Chorus for several years as well. Together, they create an innovative sound that possesses the charm of traditional music while forging their own unique path, folding in captivating original songs that blend seamlessly.

  • Summer Concert Series - Michael "Big Dog" Murphy - 6-8pm

    Fee: Free

Inspired by the moving songwriting of icons such as John Prine, Townes Van Zandt and Leonard Cohen, and the fiery instrumentation of Luther Allison, Murphy continues to excel as a singer and an artist. Having achieved the reputation of being a “Big Dog” owing to his peerless stature and deep gravely voice, the artist presents listeners a soulful and introspective experience. Armed with vocals that are both dark and haunting and yet vibrant and energetic, Murphy emanates a spectrum of emotions for audiences to live through. His discography includes, among others, records such as "Live & Blue" which he released back in 1999, and the solo, all original project, "Black, Two Sugars" which dropped in 2022. His stirring musical compositions continue to win the hearts and minds of countless audiences in colleges, bars, coffeehouses, and festivals across the Midwest. And ever being the artist, the songs he covers he makes his own, always giving them the reverence due the original, but adding his own style and interpretation.
