Making a daily vegetable smoothie is a great way to get in your greens! Making this a part of your daily routine is a great way to boost your health, increase intake of alkaline forming foods and will likely make your skin feel and look more radiant. And for those of you who don’t like vegetables, you won’t have to eat as many! It’s win-win.
GREEN SMOOTHIE RECIPE
2 pieces kale
½ lime or lemon
1 small granny smith apple or Kiwi
2 pieces celery
¼-1/2 cucumber
Handful of cilantro
For blending – add 8-12 oz of water. This recipe can also be juiced.
I like to experiment with my daily smoothie. I’ll add parsley or dandelion greens for extra green goodness. The options are endless. Remember to focus on the greens and add ½-1 piece of fruit and lemon or lime for taste. The lemon/lime helps take some of the bitterness out of the greens and keeps things on the sweet side. For an even greater alkalinizing, nutrient boost try adding spirulina or chlorella.
